Helping a Greensboro Veteran with a Full Gutter Replacement

What started as a simple gutter cleaning turned into a full replacement for a Greensboro homeowner and Navy veteran.

At Old Timers Roofing, we believe taking care of people matters just as much as taking care of the property itself.

A Pleasant Surprise

After the work was completed, we had a chance to speak with the homeowner. He shared that he originally thought the plan was just to have his gutters cleaned.

Instead, he received a call letting him know they were being fully replaced.

The homeowner is a Navy veteran who served from 1976 to 1996 and is now on disability. He was not expecting a full replacement, which made the moment even more meaningful.

He only expected them to be cleaned. Instead, he got the call that the gutters were being replaced that day.

The measurements were handled ahead of time without disruption, and the installation moved forward smoothly. By the time we connected after the job, the new gutters were already in place.

Why This Matters

Gutters protect more than the roof edge. When they begin failing, water can end up in the wrong places fast.

Overflow, fascia damage, drainage issues, and water movement around the home can all create bigger problems over time.

  • Helps direct water away from the roofline and foundation
  • Helps reduce fascia and soffit deterioration
  • Helps protect walkways and entry points
  • Helps prevent small issues from turning into major repairs

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers for Greensboro and Triad homeowners dealing with gutters, drainage issues, storms, and exterior wear.

If the gutters are sagging, separating, leaking at seams, pulling away from the fascia, or no longer directing water properly, replacement may make more sense than repeated cleaning.

Yes. Poor gutter performance can lead to water overflow, fascia and soffit damage, erosion near the home, and other moisture problems that spread beyond the gutter system itself.

We can help homeowners look at the bigger picture. If the home has gone through storms, visible wear, or drainage issues, starting with a broader inspection can show whether the gutters are the only issue or part of a larger roofing concern.

Start with a StormTrace™ evaluation or schedule a free inspection. That gives you a clearer picture of whether the condition of the home may be tied to storm activity, age, or another issue.
